Tony Brown |
EAU CLAIRE — Tony Brown will perform three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire March 1-3. His shows will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday in The Cabin of Davies Center.
No stranger to The Cabin stage, Brown was born in St. Paul and grew up in Waterloo, Iowa. Coming from a family with a deep-rooted musical and cultural history, he began playing music at the age of five and was playing professionally at age eight. His music is a fusion of reggae, soul, R&B, ska and funk that creates a catalyst for dance and celebration. His words speak about the world situation and the need for unity and love to take the place of separatism and violence.
Brown has performed on the same bill with Bob Marley and the Wailers, Primus, Morphine, John Prine and Koko Taylor, among many others.
The show is open to all ages. Soft drinks, domestic and imported beer and popcorn will be sold; proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.
The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate.
