Set for Sept. 6 at UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: Aug. 23, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — Several University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire offices will sponsor this year's Party House event to promote responsible decision making with regard to alcohol. The theme of this year's event is "You Choose," and more than a dozen campus organizations and offices are participating.

Party House will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. Informational and participatory activities will be presented on the Campus Mall to inform students about the dangers of alcohol abuse and offer other options for campus involvement, relaxation and recreation.

In the Council Fire Room of Davies Center, student volunteers will present an interactive program consisting of a seamless series of short vignettes following potential situations involving alcohol, choices to be made and their outcomes. Presentations will begin every fifteen to twenty minutes from 6 to 8 p.m.

At 8 p.m., the movie "Spin the Bottle" will be shown in Zorn Arena. The film challenges students to examine their attitudes and beliefs about alcohol and make conscious decisions about their own lives.

To conclude the evening, a concert on the mall will feature QuinnElizabeth and Chris Koza.
