EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will offer "Chinese: Conversation for Beginners" from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, Oct. 1-Nov. 8, in Room 308 of Hibbard Humanities Hall on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
Instructor Dr. Simei Tong, a UW-Eau Claire faculty member who was born and raised in Shanghai, has designed the class for adults who have no prior knowledge of the Chinese language. Topics include speaking practice with essential exercises in daily usage, phrases and vocabulary; statement and question formation; cultural patterns; practical do's and don'ts; and regional Chinese foods. The course fee is $270 per person and includes instruction, book, CD, materials and some cultural experiences.
