Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony
to Audition Students in Grades 7-12

Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony logoEAU CLAIRE — The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony and University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension are pleased to announce the fall season of the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony, an enrichment music program for students in grades 7 through 12.

Auditions for the youth symphony will be held 4-5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Menomonie High School; 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at UW-Eau Claire's Haas Fine Arts Center; and 4-5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at Chippewa Falls High School. All interested students will need to participate in these auditions. Music director Eugene Power will select musicians based on student ability and current instrumentation needs to create a full and balanced orchestra.

Rehearsals will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 18 and concluding Dec. 11, in the Haas Fine Arts Center on the UW-Eau Claire campus. Students also will perform in two free, public concerts in October and December. The cost for the fall season is $75 per student. Financial aid is available to students with demonstrated financial need.
