"The Provost's Continuing Education Innovation Fund will facilitate new program development for nontraditional students that expands and enhances our regional services, impact and connections," said Dr. Steven Tallant, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. The fund provides up to $2,500 to faculty and staff for developing a new program. Program proposals are evaluated on fit with the UW-Eau Claire and Continuing Education missions, perceived market need or demand, and financial feasibility.
"The UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education unit is dependent on innovation to maintain its operation as viable," said George Kroeninger, director of Continuing Education. "This program development initiative will serve as a catalyst to enhance and expand the University's outreach activity, particularly activity that can be self-sustaining."
Dr. Alan Rieck, associate professor of music education and choral music, used the fund to develop curriculum for a music camp for students in grades 8 through 12. "The Provost's Continuing Education Innovation Fund made our first Clearwater Music Camp possible this year and ensured its success," said Rieck.
