UW-Eau Claire to Offer Seminar
on Wage and Hour Law Revisions

RELEASED: Aug. 13, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — Because staying up to date with recent revisions to federal wage and hour law regulations as well as Wisconsin's response to those revisions can be challenging for businesses, the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Small Business Development Center and the Office of Continuing Education will offer "Wage & Hour Law, 2007 Update" to help businesses sort through the rules and revisions.

The seminar will run from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Plaza Hotel & Suites in Eau Claire. Participants will learn the latest differences between salaried and hourly employees, tests for identifying exempt employees, employer record keeping requirements, and much more.

Steve Weld, president of Weld, Riley, Prenn & Ricci, S.C., in Eau Claire, will be the instructor for the course. Weld has been listed in "Best Lawyers in America" since 1995. He also has been listed as a Wisconsin Super Lawyer since that designation was created by Law & Politics magazine. His practice focuses on the areas of management labor and employment law.

The fee to attend is $79 per person, which includes instruction, materials and refreshments. To reserve a seat, call Continuing Education at 715-836-3636 or toll free 866-893-2423. Participants may also register on-line.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. For more information, contact Ann Rupnow at the UW-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center, 715-836-5811 or 866-893-2423, use the Wisconsin Relay System (711) or e-mail ce@uwec.edu.

The Small Business Development Centers are members of the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network, a coalition of 70 partner organizations which provide access to services for small business throughout Wisconsin.
