UW-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center
Receives High Scores in Counseling

RELEASED: April 30, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center surpassed the state average in a recent survey of Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network partners. The Center provides counseling, training, information and resource direction to individuals interested in starting, growing, or managing a business.

The survey included a total of ten questions; five specific to each WEN partner and five covering overall WEN experience. Participants were asked to rank using a scale of one to five with one equaling "Strongly Disagree" and five equaling "Strongly Agree."

In the category "knowledgeable in their field," the UW-Eau Claire SBDC scored 4.91 while the state average for WEN partners was 4.71. In the category "effectively identify my business issues," the SBDC scored 4.64, again surpassing the 4.43 average for WEN partners. In "helpful assistance," the SBDC earned 4.82 while the WEN partners averaged 4.63. And in the category "would recommend to others," SBDC rated 4.73 against the WEN average score of 4.71.

Comments specific to the UW-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center, which is part of UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension included, "My experience was nothing but fabulous! I would recommend the UW-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center to anyone interested in starting a business."
