EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Concert Choir and Symphonic Choir will present a Choral Union Concert, performing J.S. Bach's Mass in B Minor, at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, in Zorn Arena. The choir will be 160 strong and will perform with the full University Symphony Orchestra, directed by Nobuyoshi Yasuda.
The choirs, conducted by Dr. Alan Rieck, will perform the traditional mass text in 27 movements that alternate between Concert Choir, Symphonic Choir, the choirs combined and the soloists.
The concert will feature soloists soprano Mitra Sadeghpour, assistant professor of music and theatre arts; mezzo-soprano Kathryn Proctor Duax, professor of music and theatre arts; tenor Mark Mowry, lecturer of music and theatre arts; and bass Robert Knight, professor of music and theatre arts. Also to perform solos are soprano Christine Schweikert, a recent UW-Eau Claire graduate from Altoona, and alto Jessica Perez, a junior from Omaha, Neb.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $4 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.50 for students with a university ID.
