SUBJECT: Photo Opportunity Celebrate Literacy

Area families and UW-Eau Claire students, faculty and staff will gather for a Literacy Festival from 6-8 p.m. April 26 in at the Oak and Pine pavilions in Carson Park.

The 300-plus participants will include students from Eau Claire elementary schools and their families, as well as UW-Eau Claire students who participate in reading programs that pair them with area schoolchildren.

The university students and their reading partners will gather to celebrate the joy of reading quality literature. Games and other literature-related activities are planned for the Thursday celebration. New books also will be distributed to the children.
