EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire University Band will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
The University Band, conducted by Randal Dickerson, associate professor of music, plans to open the concert with Robert Sheldon's "Danse Celestiale" followed by Robert E. Foster Jr.'s lullaby, "Dylansong," conducted by UW-Eau Claire senior Sean Hauer, Hudson. The band will also perform "Ride" by Samuel Hazo.
The program is set to include Johan de Meij's suite "Aquarium." The composition consists of three movements representing six tropical fish with different motifs. Also on the program is Antonin Dvorak's "Slavonic Dance No. 8," which reflects the spirit of Slavonic folk music. The concert will conclude with David R. Holsinger's "Abram's Pursuit."
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and free for students with a university ID.
