EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Spanish Business Association will bring Ricardo Palomo to campus to speak about his experiences as owner of Renewable Energy Resources and the opportunities one may gain from speaking Spanish. Palomo will speak from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the Badger Room of Davies Center.
Palomo's company, located near St. Paul, Minn., is dedicated exclusively to renewable energy projects throughout North America.
UW-Eau Claire offers the option of a business/professions emphasis with its liberal arts Spanish major, but Dr. Juan Carlos Chaves, SBA adviser, hopes the presentation also will be of interest to many of the other students enrolled in Spanish classes at UW-Eau Claire, as well as those who have studied abroad in Spanish-speaking countries.
The Spanish Business Association meets monthly, inviting native speakers of Spanish from all professions to come and share their work experiences and how they came to hold their present positions. The main purpose of the association is to serve as a bridge between the university and the larger community.
For more information, contact Chaves at 715-836-4287 or chavesjc@uwec.edu, or SBA president Andrew Reigel at reigelaj@uwec.edu.
