UW-Eau Claire to Offer Summer Class
on Painting with Acrylics

RELEASED: April 4, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will offer "Painting: The Fundamentals (and the Fun)" on Thursdays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. May 24-June 28, in Room 315 of the Haas Fine Arts Center on the UW-Eau Claire campus. The class is designed for beginners interested in learning the basics and for those with some experience who wish to sharpen existing painting skills.

Instructor Susan Sveda-Uncapher is a local artist who has given numerous exhibits and is active in local arts organizations. She received her bachelor of fine arts degree from UW-Eau Claire and her master of fine arts from the University of Chicago. Students in the class will develop fundamental acrylic painting skills, learn about the evolution of painting styles from the late 19th through the early 20th centuries, increase awareness of artistic style techniques, and complete a frame-worth finished piece.

The class fee is $189 and enrollment is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
