UW-Eau Claire Offers Supervisory
Management Seminars in October

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present several workshops from the Supervisory Management Certificate program in October.

• "Tools & Techniques for On-the-Job Training" will be held Oct.12-13 in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters Restaurant. Topics include how to flex instructional approaches to match trainee needs, react to various trainee learning styles, develop useful training checklists, and how training aids can make learning more effective.
• "Supervisory Management 1" will be held Oct. 24-25 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center on the UW-La Crosse campus. Topics include how to move from an operational to a decision-making role, strategies that make the transition smoother and less stressful, how to identify situations which require different leadership styles, guidelines for understanding employee behavior and discipline without punishment.
• "Supervisory Management 2" will be held Oct. 26-27 in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters Restaurant. Topics include discussion of time management issues, how to use delegation as a developmental tool, what to include when orienting a new worker to a work group, and how communication styles impact relationships.

All workshops meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individual course fees are $425 per person and include lunch, breaks, materials and instruction. Group fee is $375 per person for three to five people from the same firm attending the same session and registering at the same time. Series fee is $1,125 per individual registering for Supervisory Management 1, 2, and 3 at the same time. Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, the workshops may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements.
