UW-Eau Claire Announces
Planetarium Shows for September

RELEASED: Sept. 6, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — "Constellations, Myths, and Legends" is the title of the Tuesday evening planetarium show during September at the L.E. Phillips Planetarium. A mixture of stories and myths associated with stars and constellations will be presented at the one-hour shows, which begin promptly at 7 p.m. The star lore includes European, Native American and Japanese stories. Constellations seen in the Wisconsin autumn sky will be emphasized.

Children’s shows are offered on Saturday mornings at 11 a.m. These shows are less than an hour long and are for ages four and up. The September shows will include the futuristic story "Larry, Cat in Space." Larry is a cat with no space travel experience, but when his owner takes a job on the moon, Larry wants to join her there. This show is aimed at younger elementary school kids.

The L.E. Phillips Planetarium is located on the UW-Eau Claire campus in Phillips Hall, with free parking after 6 p.m. and on weekends. The tickets are $1 and are sold at the door just before the show.
