SUBJECT: Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich's Oct. 27 Inauguration

 

UW-Eau Claire will celebrate the inauguration of its seventh chief executive, Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich, at 3 p.m. this Friday, Oct. 27, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

All university faculty, staff and emeriti have been invited to attend the inauguration festivities. Community members, the Chancellor's family and friends, UW chancellors and representatives of UW System also have been invited to attend.

University music ensembles will perform before the ceremony in the Haas Fine Arts Center foyer beginning at 2:15 p.m. Music during the ceremony will be provided by the University Symphony Orchestra, and the university's all-male chorus, The Singing Statesmen, will lead attendees in the national anthem and the UW-Eau Claire Alma Mater. A reception in the Haas Fine Arts Center foyer immediately following the ceremony also will include music by ensembles from UW-Eau Claire's department of music and theatre arts.

Speakers during the ceremony will include Susan Harrison, University Senate chair; Chris Wagner, Student Senate president; Christopher Kirchman, recipient of UW-Eau Claire's 2005 Classified Staff Excellence in Performance Award; Robert McCoy, president of the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce; Dave Zien, Wisconsin Senate president pro tem; Jesus Salas, a member of the UW System Board of Regents; and Stephen Jordan, president of Metropolitan State College of Denver. UW System president Kevin Reilly will install Chancellor Levin-Stankevich and present him with the university medallion.

The news media is welcome to attend the inauguration festivities.
