UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education
Offers Supervisory Management Seminars

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present several workshops from the Supervisory Management Certificate program in November.

  • "Managing Your Diverse Workforce" will be held Nov. 7-8 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center on the UW-La Crosse campus. Topics include age and gender differences, adaptation to difference, approaches to managing different people, and barriers to productivity, communication and work satisfaction.
  • "Negotiation Skills" will be held Nov. 9-10 in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters restaurant. Topics include negotiating project deadlines, work assignments, budget and human resource allocations, and strategies, skills, and motivations for negotiating win-win outcomes. Participants will apply the concepts to everyday interactions and specialized contract or conflict situations.
  • "Managing Projects and Project Teams" will be held Nov.15-16 in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters restaurant. Topics include how to run efficient team meetings, long-range project planning techniques, systems for organizing multiple projects, generating project "buy in," enlisting power brokers for project support, solving unexpected problems, and strategies for handling crisis situations.

All workshops meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individual course fees are $425 per person and include lunch, breaks, materials and instruction. Group fee is $375 per person for three to five people from the same firm attending the same session and registering at the same time. Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, the workshops may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements.
