EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Theta Zeta Chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, will celebrate its golden anniversary by hosting the 2006 Midwestern Regional Conference Oct. 20-21 on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
More than 30 students from 17 colleges in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin will present their critical papers and creative works in the Hibbard Humanities Hall.
The event will begin with a social from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Hibbard Hall Penthouse and continue with workshops and presentations on Friday and Saturday. Sessions will be held on topics such as gender studies; memoirs, monologues and speeches; philosophy, religion and critical approaches; prose; poetry; TV, film and games; and critical papers on American writers.
