EAU CLAIRE — In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the University Bookstore at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is participating in the Shop for a Cure fundraising campaign throughout the month of October.
The University Bookstore is part of the network of college stores across the country selling limited-edition breast cancer awareness clothing and merchandise, with a portion of the profits going to the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund. The National Breast Cancer Coalition is a grassroots organization dedicated to ending breast cancer through action and advocacy.
"Breast cancer doesn't just affect women; it has an impact on entire families and communities," said Melissa Schmitt, director of Barnes & Noble College Booksellers. "We are delighted to support the NBCCF in their fight against breast cancer and to help educate campus communities about this disease."
Last year's Shop for a Cure campaign collectively raised over $50,000.
Located on the lower level of Davies Center, the University Bookstore is open Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
