EAU CLAIRE — Emilia Dahlin will present three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Oct. 19-21. Her shows will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in The Cabin of Davies Center.

Wielding strong storytelling sensibilities and a voice that defies the size of her body, Emilia Dahlin has carved out her name as a unique singer-songwriter. She weaves tales complete with Greek myths, robotic messiahs, epic floods and tax evaders with raw, rootsy folk and dynamic jazz vocals. The quintessential indie musician, she is a self-made original who wears the hat of artist, manager, booking agent and publicist all at once.

Dahlin resides in Portland, Maine, where she was voted Best Female Vocalist of 2005. That year she was also selected as a finalist out of a field of 1,800 submissions in Boston's NEMO Songwriting Competition. In 2006 she was a finalist in the Telluride Bluegrass Festival's Troubadour Competition. She has showcased at the NEMO Music Festival and at the National Association for Campus Activities conferences in Boston and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Cabin performances are free and open to all ages. Soda, domestic and imported beer, specialty coffee drinks and tea are sold at all Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening programs. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. For more information visit the Cabin Web site at or contact the Activities and Programs office, 715-836-4833.
