UW-Eau Claire Forensics Team
Competes and Places in Madison

RELEASED: Nov. 20, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team traveled to UW-Madison for the Badger Memorial Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 11, and to the Madison Area Technical College for the Mid-America Forensic League Tournament #4 on Sunday, Nov. 12.

The forensics team placed third overall at the Badger Memorial Tournament and fifth at MAFL #4.

Following are the individual results from the Badger Memorial Tournament:

Junior Hilary Rasmussen, Eau Claire, placed first in informative speaking; second in duo interpretation with freshman B.J. Pickard, Eau Claire, qualifying that event for the National Forensics Association National Tournament; and third in prose interpretation.

Freshman Whitney Zahn, Menomonee Falls, took fourth in informative speaking.

Sophomore Julie Germain, New Richmond, took first in persuasive speaking, and second in dramatic interpretation, qualifying both events for the American Forensics Association National Tournament.

Freshman Dylan Jambrek, Waukesha, placed sixth in persuasive speaking, qualifying that event for NFA.

Freshman Nathan Jahnke, Madison, took seventh in persuasive speaking.

Following are the individual results from MAFL #4:

Rasmussen took first in informative speaking and second in duo interpretation with Pickard.

Germain placed third in persuasive speaking and sixth in informative speaking.

Zahn took fourth in informative speaking.

Jambrek took fourth in persuasive speaking.
