Acoustic Duo Patchouli to Present
Three Free Concerts at UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: Nov. 20, 2006

PatchouliEAU CLAIRE — Patchouli will present three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Dec. 7-9. The acoustic duo will begin its shows at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in The Cabin of Davies Center.

Bruce Stanton and Julie Reitz recorded their first tape in 1993 in a church in Chicago. With Bruce on acoustic guitar and Julie on a five-gallon pail, they discovered their desire to create music together out of anything and everything. Since those humble beginnings, Patchouli has logged thousands of miles, played hundreds of shows, made TV appearances, and has been featured on world and folk radio programs across the country. Reitz's passionate and playful vocals and musical versatility combine with Stanton's fluid guitar improvisations, making their live performances an engaging, diverse and organic musical experience. Their past performances at The Cabin have been pleasantly memorable.

Patchouli has recorded eight albums, the latest being the polished "The Light Behind You."

The shows are open to all ages. Soda, domestic and imported beer, specialty coffee drinks and tea are sold at all Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening programs. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. A complete schedule of Cabin events is available online and at the Activities and Programs office, 715-836-4833.
