UW-Eau Claire Women's Chorus to
Perform Fall Concert Nov. 20

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The Women's Chorus, directed by Daniel Newman, associate professor of music, will open with Newman's arrangement of the "Star Spangled Banner." The ensemble's next selections will be "Il est bel et bon" by Passereau and "To Be Sung on the Water" by Samuel Barber. The Women's Chorus also will perform James Smith's "Tango Dada," and "Christe Eleison" by Antonio Vivaldi. The ensemble will conclude with three works by Moses Hogan, "I Am His Child," "Lily of the Valley" and "Ride On, King Jesus." "Ride On, King Jesus will feature solos by freshman Angela Busse, Curtiss, and Callie Keaton, Milwaukee. The Women's Chorus is accompanied by senior Laura Kadlec, Maiden Rock.

After the ensemble's final selection, the Leading Tones will take the stage. The group will perform "I Can Dream Can't I" by Brad Rees and an arrangement of "I Bought Me a Cat" by Aaron Copland. They also will perform "Bye Bye Blackbird/Bye Bye Blues," an arrangement by April Arabian and Newman. They will bring the concert to an end with "Sincerely" by Harvey Fuqua and Alan Freed. Members of the Leading Tones are graduate student Jimena Arriah, Elk Mound; freshman Kerry Nutting, Wausau; freshman Mackenzie Lehn, Hutchinson, Minn.; and freshman Amy Seeland, Amery.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older and children 17 and younger; and free for faculty, staff and students with a university ID.
