Wisconsin Woodwind Quintet to Present Free Sunday Afternoon Concert

RELEASED: May 31, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The Wisconsin Woodwind Quintet will present a free concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 4, in Gantner Concert Hall of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Haas Fine Arts Center. The faculty ensemble features Tim Lane on flute, Christa Garvey on oboe, Richard Fletcher on clarinet, Kristine Fletcher on bassoon and Verle Ormsby Jr. on horn.

The concert will open with Franz Danzi's Wind Quintet in G Minor, followed by "Rengaines" by Andre Souris and "Cinco Danzas Breves" by Mario Lavista. The concert will close with "Three Bagatelles," composed by UW-Eau Claire emeritus professor of music Ivar Lunde Jr.

The Wisconsin Woodwind Quintet will perform this program in June at the first International Wood Flute Conference at the University of Washington in Seattle. Flutist Tim Lane, accompanied by pianist Namji Kim, also will perform a solo recital at the conference.
