QuickBooks Accounting Workshops Offered
in June at UW-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE — Due to popular demand, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center and the Office of Continuing Education will offer two QuickBooks workshops for small businesses in June.

"QuickBooks Accounting Basics" is a two-morning workshop that runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday, June 2 and Friday, June 9. Participants will learn software setup; basic accounting tasks; and how to use accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.

"Using QuickBooks Effectively" is an advanced class for those who completed "QuickBooks Accounting Basics" or have experience with the software. "Using QuickBooks Effectively" will meet from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday, June 16. It focuses on special features, tips and optimizing practices.

Both QuickBooks workshops meet in the Cargill Computer Lab, Schneider Hall, on the UW-Eau Claire campus. The practical workshops are taught by Jim Mattson, an accountant and computer consultant with Bauman Associates in Eau Claire. Mattson has more than fifteen years of experience helping small businesses develop efficient and effective accounting systems.

Workshop fees are: $149 per person for "QuickBooks Accounting Basics" (June 2 and 9) and $79 for "Using QuickBooks Effectively" (June 16). Participants can save $29 by registering for both workshops at the same time, as the discount fee for both workshops is $199 total. Fees include instruction, course materials and refreshments.
