EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Sigma Theta Tau, and Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present "Research into Practice, 21st Annual Kaleidoscope of Nursing Scholarship" on April 28 on the UW-Eau Claire campus. The program begins at 9 a.m. and concludes at 3:30 p.m. Poster presentations will be held in the Skylight Lounge and the President's Room in Davies Center from 10:30-11:10 a.m. Delta Phi Chapter Sigma Theta Tau will host a reception at 4 p.m.
Keynote speaker Dr. Carol Picard, co-author of "Giving Voice to What We Know: Margaret Newman's Theory of Health as Expanding Consciousness in Nursing Practice, Education and Research," will present "Keeping the Passion in Compassion." Nurses from all practice areas will find new evidence-based ideas. Topics include measuring quality of care in nursing homes; strategies to promote success on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses; self-regulation by older adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; and implementation of an oral care protocol in pediatric intensive care units.
The program fee is $60 for professionals and $30 for current UW-Eau Claire graduate nursing students and includes morning refreshments, lunch and a book of abstracts. Participants may earn 5.4 contact hours.
