EAU CLAIRE — The Wisconsin Association of School Nurses Conference will be held April 25–26 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center in Stevens Point, with pre-conference presentations on April 24.
The "Balancing Wellness" conference offers school nurses the opportunity to network with peers while updating knowledge and skills, and earning nursing contact hours.
Keynote speakers are Bernice Buresh; journalist, international lecturer and co-author of the award-winning book, From Silence to Voice: What Nurses Know and Must Communicate to the Public; and Jill Fleming, leading motivational speaker and author in the field of weight loss.
Pre-conference and conference topics include: vision screening, diabetes, seizures, G-tubes, methamphetamine, immunization records, school breakfast, legal issues, body art, Skyward software, meningitis, athletic injuries, asthma, school preparedness, childhood obesity, lead poisoning, fitness training and wellness policies.
Pre-conference sessions begin at 4 p.m. April 24; the conference opens at 8 a.m. April 25 and concludes at 2 p.m. April 26. A WASN general meeting will be held at 3:45 p.m. on April 25, followed by at reception at 5:15.
