EAU CLAIRE — Wisconsin Department of Commerce International Consultant John Konkel will moderate "Doing Business Globally: Wisconsin Meets the World," a program for experienced exporters and those just considering international markets.
The program will run 8 a.m.-2 p.m. May 11 at the Plaza Hotel and Suites in Eau Claire.
Wisconsin's international market directors from Brazil, Canada, China and Mexico will brief attendees on the pros and cons of exporting, developing international markets, and current market conditions and opportunities around the world.
Edward Schaefer, COO of Silver Spring Gardens, will discuss the business' expansion into the global marketplace, challenges encountered and the ongoing rewards of exporting products internationally. Regional, domestic and economic development professionals will discuss assistance available to regional businesses.
Other discussion topics include identification of agents, distributors and buyers; explanations of foreign business practices; market research advice and direction; product potential in foreign markets; and how to access legal, banking and translation services.
Participants can schedule one-on-one appointments with Wisconsin Department of Commerce International directors.
