Fourteen Students to Exhibit Work for Senior
BFA Art Show

RELEASED: March 17, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — Fourteen candidates for University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire bachelor of fine arts degrees will display their works in a senior BFA art show. The exhibit will run March 30-April 19 in the Foster Gallery of the Haas Fine Arts Center. An opening reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 1.

Studio art exhibits will include watercolors and drawings, illustrations in a variety of mixed media, jewelry, ceramics and sculptures. Graphic design exhibits will include package designs, printed materials, photography and a variety of other works.

"I draw influences from my environment and surroundings where I live and where I travel," said Tiffany Bailey, Bagley, who will exhibit sculptural forms in clay. "Architecture is a common theme evident in my work."

"I will be exhibiting a series of portraits," said Amanda Matzke, Green Bay. "I enjoy working with people and capturing a variety of traditional and non-traditional images."

Amir Seltz, Madison, said he is influenced by Japanese pottery with particular attention paid to the surface.

Other exhibitors are Betsy Fuller, Sheboygan; Lucas Gluesenkamp, Andover, Minn.; Andrea Hullett, Chetek; Shawna Johnson, Colfax; Seth Koslowski, Menasha; Matthew Meyer, Wisconsin Rapids; Jane Marie Ovanin, Amherst; Tadd Rozwadowski, Milwaukee; Glen Skolaski, Verona; Sarah Sturgis, Chaska, Minn.; and Tracy Warner, Whitehall.

Foster Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and 1 to 4:30 p.m. weekends. For more information about gallery exhibits, contact Tom Wagener at (715) 836-2328.
