During July 4 Holiday Week

RELEASED: June 19, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — An abbreviated week of programming due to the July 4 holiday will see the debut of a new Summer Session Program series at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Wednesdays in July, a film series called Summer Cinema Revolution: A Declaration of Independents will celebrate creative and independent films and filmmakers. The series will begin July 5 with A Night with the STIFFE, a selection of short films screening at 7 p.m. in Davies Theatre. The annual STIFFE (Student Independent Film Festival) was created by the University Activities Commission of the Student Senate in 2000. Short films ranging from comedy to drama to action to silent films and more will be included in this selection of the best festival entries submitted by UW-Eau Claire students.

Summer Session Programs are free and open to all. A complete schedule is available from the Activities and Programs office, Davies Center 133, (715) 836-4833, or online.
