Three UW-Eau Claire Freshmen Named Diversity Scholars

RELEASED: June 14, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — Three students set to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this coming fall have been named Diversity Scholars for the 2006-07 academic year.

The Diversity Scholars program, funded through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, was created to recruit and retain academically strong students from historically underrepresented groups. The scholarships, with selection criteria based on high school class rank and national test scores, are renewable for up to three years for full-time students who maintain good academic standing.

The Diversity Scholars are Katya Alcaraz, Rice Lake, daughter of Victor and Joesfina Jimenez; Seng Vang, Green Bay, daughter of Mee Yang; and Audrey Mohr, New Ulm, Minn., daughter of Ron and Penny Mohr.
