Continuing Education Director to Serve
on Advisory Committee for MPH

EAU CLAIRE — George Kroeninger, director of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/Extension, has accepted an invitation to serve as a member of the Community Advisory Committee for the Master of Public Health Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Kroeninger has been director of Continuing Education since 2005. Prior to joining the university, Kroeninger held the position of director of medical and community education at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation, where for 12 years he managed national/international medical education programs as well as a nationally-recognized statewide cardiovascular disease prevention and health education initiative. He received his bachelor's degree in adult health/exercise science at the UW-Oshkosh and his master's degree in public health, with specializations in health education and public administration, from the University of Northern Colorado.

Committee members are drawn from representatives of health departments, healthcare organizations, not-for-profit agencies, and others affiliated with public health throughout the state of Wisconsin. The advisory committee provides input regarding the development of field placement opportunities, post-graduation employment, program accreditation and recruitment of new students. The committee also provides advice on the coordination of efforts between the MPH program and the Wisconsin public health community.
