Spanish for Travel and Pleasure Offered
By UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will offer beginning Spanish for pleasure and travel on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, March 21-April 27 (no class on April 11 and 13). Classes will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Room 202 of Hibbard Hall on the UW-Eau Claire campus. The class is designed for adults whose knowledge of Spanish ranges from high beginner to low intermediate level. Topics covered include phrases and vocabulary, statement and question formation, cultural patterns, 'do's and don'ts', and basic geography. The class emphasizes reading and speaking practice, with practical application.

Instructor Dale Omtvedt Gable teaches Spanish and English as a Second Language at UW-Eau Claire and has traveled extensively in Mexico, Columbia, Central America and Spain.

The course fee is $225 per person and includes instruction, materials and some cultural experiences. The textbook is not included; "Spanish for Gringos," I & II by William C. Harvey is approximately $26 as a package and can be purchased online or through a local bookstore.
