TPRS Workshop to Be Held at UW-Eau Claire Feb. 3

Blaine RayEAU CLAIRE — A Teaching Proficiency Through Reading and Storytelling Workshop will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in the Penthouse of Hibbard Humanities Hall.

This five-hour workshop will be of interest to current and prospective language teachers, reading specialists, ESL teachers and foreign language teachers. Participants will learn how to engage learners and teach language and grammar holistically through storytelling. The workshop is free for UW students and $20 for practicing educators. Lunch will be provided at 1 p.m.

The workshop leader, Blaine Ray, is a pioneer in the area of TPRS and will be visiting Eau Claire for the first time.

Participants are encouraged to arrive early to find off campus parking. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The workshop is made possible by grants provided by the UW-Eau Claire Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Wisconsin Teachers of English to Speaker of Languages, and CESA 10 and 11.
