EAU CLAIRE — Students from 18 Western Wisconsin high schools are registered to participate in the 24th annual regional Mathematics Meet on Saturday, Feb. 18, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. at Hibbard Hall.
Participants from 32 teams representing their schools will compete for team championships as well as individual honors by solving mathematics problems. The meet is hosted by the UW-Eau Clare mathematics department.
UW-Eau Claire scholarships, funded by Xcel Energy, will be awarded to the top four individual winners in each of three divisions at the awards ceremony, which will be held at 1:20 p.m. in Room 100 of Hibbard Hall. First and second place teams and top individuals will receive trophies and all student competitors will receive t-shirts.
In case of bad weather, an alternative date of Saturday, Feb. 25, has been set.
