EAU CLAIRE — Registration has begun for the 18th Annual Adolescents and Families Conference to be held at the Lakewoods Resort in Cable. The conference will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, and adjourn at noon Friday, April 21. The conference theme is "Transforming Communities by Seeing Ourselves in Others."
The conference features keynote speaker Dr. Julie Keown-Bomar, family living educator for UW-Extension, who develops grass roots educational programs to improve the quality of life for families in Eau Claire County. Her presentation, "Dismantling the 'ISMs' from the Inside Out," will focus on awareness and action starting with the individual.

The conference is designed for educators, social workers, school and community counselors, mental health and other health care professionals, resource officers, youth workers, substance abuse counselors, community resource coordinators, domestic abuse advocates, law enforcement personnel, and others interested in positive youth development.
The conference fee is $175 and includes instruction, materials, and 1.3 CEUs for participants who attend the entire conference, Wednesday dinner, Thursday breakfast and lunch, Friday breakfast, and all refreshment breaks. A one graduate credit option is available. The registration deadline is April 1; registrations received after this date will be accepted on a space available basis. Early registration is encouraged.
