Musical Events for the Week of Feb. 6

RELEASED: Feb. 1, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Feb. 6. All events are free and open to the public.

Thursday, Feb. 9:

  • Tim Lane, professor of music, Ivar Lunde Jr., professor emeritus of music, and Nanette Lunde, professor emerita of music, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The recital will feature the music of Bach, with Lane on baroque flute, Ivar Lunde Jr. on baroque oboe and Nanette Lunde on harpsichord. The trio will open with Sonata in A Major. Preludes from "The Well-Tempered Clavier" and "Ich Armer Mensch ich Sundenknecht" also will be featured. The ensemble will conclude with Trio Sonata III, as arranged by Ivar Lunde Jr.

Sunday, Feb. 12:

  • Paul Kosower, professor of music, will present a faculty cello recital at 2 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The program will include two works by Bach as well as Mark Kosower's "To Be Free." The performance also will serve as the premiere for an original solo cello work titled "Vista Con Amore" by Paul Kosower.
