Student Wellness Advocacy Team Honored
At UW-Eau Claire Recognized with Award

SWATteam logoEAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Student Wellness Advocacy Team was recently recognized with an award at the Bacchus and Gamma Peer Education Network's Area 4 Conference.

UW-Eau Claire's SWATeam was recognized with an Outstanding Program award for their contribution to this year's collaborative event "Drink Like a Blugold: Challenge the Assumptions."

SWATeam's award was one of five program awards given at the Bacchus and Gamma conference, and it honors creativity and collaboration in health education programming. SWATeam students received $100 for the award to use towards future health education activities and programs.

The event was held in early fall for first-year students. The program was sponsored by SWATeam, Housing and Residence Life, New Student Orientation, the Center for Alcohol Studies and Education, Activities and Programs, the First Year Experience Program and the Center for Awareness of Sexual Assault.

Over 700 students and professional health educators participated in the Bacchus and Gamma conference in Anaheim, Calif., Nov. 8-11.
