UW-Eau Claire Announces Winter Holiday and
Winterim 2007 Parking Regulations

RELEASED: Dec. 19, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Parking and Transportation Services office has announced parking regulations for the 2006 winter holiday and for Winterim 2007.

Between Dec. 26 and 29, all meters, no parking zones, loading zones, 15-minute zones and handicapped areas will be enforced.

Beginning Jan. 2, 2007, parking permits will be required to park in the Hibbard, Phillips, Murray and McPhee lots. Permits will be required for parking rows marked "F" and "GF" in Hibbard, for rows marked "F," "S," and "GF" in Phillips, for rows marked "F" in Murray, and for rows marked "F" and "S" in McPhee. Please note that "F" and "S" spots are not interchangeable. Unless posted at the parking lot entrance, other parking spots are available without a permit.

All other parking regulations — including all parking meters, no parking and loading zones, 15-minute parking, handicap areas, and head-into-stalls requirements — will be enforced during Winterim.

The city's normal bus service to UW-Eau Claire will end Dec. 22. The Water Street route will resume for Winterim classes Jan. 2. Regular spring semester service will begin Jan. 22.

If a vehicle stalls or does not start in a university lot, the motorist must contact the University police at 715-836-2222 so a disabled vehicle tag can be placed on the vehicle. Vehicles that do not have an orange disabled tag will be ticketed.

The Parking and Transportation Services office will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 and 15. The office will be open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 26-29, and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, Jan. 2-19 (with the exception of the 15th for Martin Luther King Day).

The Visitor's Center, where visitors can obtain parking permits, will be open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 2-19, with the exception of Jan 15.

Call 715-836-2002 for more information or visit www.uwec.edu/parking.
