Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony
to Present Winter Concert

RELEASED: Dec. 6, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony will present its winter concert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus. The event is free and open to the public.

This concert will be Eugene Power's first as conductor and director of the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony. The concert will open with "The Barber of Seville Overture" by Gioacchino Rossini. Other pieces include "The Montagues and the Capulets" from "Romeo and Juliet" by Serge Prokofiefff and Symphony No. 5 in C Minor by Ludwig Van Beethoven.

The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony offers a creative outlet and symphony experience for area students in grades 6-12. This year there are over 60 youth members and six UW-Eau Claire student section leaders.
