Musical Events
for the Week of Monday, Sept. 4

RELEASED: Aug. 29, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Sept. 4. All events are free and open to the public.

Sunday, Sept. 10:

  • Flutist Tim Lane, professor or music, and pianist Namji Kim, assistant professor of music, will present a joint faculty recital at 4 p.m. in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The concert will open with Joseph Schwanter's "Black Anemones," an adaptation by the composer of the second poem included in his "Two Poems by Aguela Pizarro for Voice and Piano." The first half of the program also will include compositions by two UW-Eau Claire music faculty emeriti: Sonata for Flute and Piano by David Baker and "Miniatures," Opus 118, by Ivar Lunde Jr. The second half of the concert will feature Ingold Dahl's Variations on a Swedish Folktune for Solo Flute, and Prokofieff's Sonata for Flute and Piano, Opus 94.
