SUBJECT: UW-Eau Claire's Opening Meeting

UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff will gather Tuesday, Aug. 22, for the first “Getting in the Groove” All Employee Breakfast, which will kick off the 2006-07 academic year. This will be the first time all university employees — regardless of classification or job title — will come together for the opening meeting.

Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich will begin the program with a welcome at 8:30 a.m. in Zorn Arena. University Senate Chair Susan Harrison will follow with her remarks. The UW-Eau Claire Excellence Awards to faculty and staff will then be presented.

The event will conclude with Chancellor Levin-Stankevich’s first “State of the University” address. In that address, he will talk about his impressions of the campus and outline his goals for the university.

Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend the event.

The archived audio broadcast and text of Chancellor Levin-Stankevich’s address will be available following the meeting.
