Early Birdie Golf Outing to Raise Funds for NYSP

RELEASED: April 21, 2006

golf imageEAU CLAIRE — The Early Birdie Golf Outing, part of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's annual Rec Fest, will take place Friday, May 12, at Princeton Valley Golf Course.

Proceeds from the outing will go to support the National Youth Sports Program, an award winning program for boys and girls ages 10-16 that will be held June 13-July 14 on the UW-Eau Claire campus. The federally funded program is conducted by University Recreation and Sport Facilities and provides area youth with an opportunity to learn sports skills and receive information about drugs and alcohol, nutrition, careers and higher education.

The outing is for any level of golfer and costs $25 per person (four people per team). Anyone can play and the fee includes nine holes, lunch, prizes and a t-shirt. Games will be held at each hole for a chance to win prizes. A lucky winner could even take home a new set of golf clubs.

Register at the Hilltop Recreation Center by noon Thursday, May 11. For more information, contact Andy Jepsen, at (715) 836-2176 or e-mail jepsenan@uwec.edu.
