UW-Eau Claire Women's Concert Chorale
to Perform Spring Concert April 30

RELEASED: April 20, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Concert Chorale will present a concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 30, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

Women's Concert Chorale, under the direction of Alan Rieck, associate professor of music, will begin the performance with a set titled "Passion Expressed." The set will include Hans Leo Hassler's "Come, All Musicians Come" and "Te Quiero" by Alberto Favero. The set will conclude with "Weep No More" by David N. Childs. The second set of selections features the works of Mozart.

Following intermission, the second half of the concert will also feature two sets titled "World Expressions" and "Sacred Connections." The first set will include Karl Jenkins' "Adiemus" and "Ach! Synku Synku," a Czech folksong arranged by Donald Patriquin. The second set includes Z. Randall Stroope's "Lux Aeterna" and "Dies Irae." Seniors Nicole Andrews, Sheboygan Falls, Courtney Gansmann, Allenton, Marilyn Spiess, Waconia, Minn., and Amanda Blaylock, De Pere, will be featured as student conductors.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or (800) 949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $4 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.50 for students with a university ID.
