University Band to Perform Spring Concert May 1

RELEASED: April 20, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire University Band will present its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 1, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The University Band, conducted by Randal Dickerson, associate professor of music, plans to open the concert with David Holsinger's Prelude and Rondo followed by "Folk Song Suite" by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The concert's program is also set to include Gustav Holst's "Jupiter" from "The Planets" and "An American Elegy" by Frank Ticheli. The University Band will conclude with Robert W. Smith's "Winds of Posiedon."

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or (800) 949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older and children 17 and younger; and free for faculty, staff and students with a university ID.
