UW-Eau Claire Women's Chorus to Perform Spring Concert April 24

RELEASED: April 14, 2006

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Women's Chorus will perform its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.

The concert is set to begin with Howard Cable's arrangement of "Overture to the Marriage of Figaro," followed by Mozart's Adagio, as set by Kirk Aamot. Senior Jacob Boyle, Oconomowoc/Pewaukee, will assist on clarinet for the Adagio. Other arrangements to be featured include "All Things Bright and Beautiful," "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." The Women's Chorus will close with William Dawson's "Ain'-a that Good News" and "Dry Bones," arranged by Mark Hayes.

The Women's Chorus is under the direction of Daniel Newman, associate professor of music. They will be assisted on piano by junior Laura Kadlec, Maiden Rock, and sophomore David Hurd, Fall Creek.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, (715) 836-3727 or (800) 949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older and children 17 and younger; and free for faculty, staff and students with a university ID.
