Workforce Development Secretary Gassman
to Speak at Seminar

EAU CLAIRE — There is still time to register for "Creating Cultures of Health: Controlling Health Costs Through Alternative Strategies." The program will be held Wednesday, May 3, at the Holiday Inn-Campus Area in Eau Claire and is intended for health care purchasers/employers, public health professionals, personnel/human resource professionals, finance professionals, health care providers, economic/community development professionals, educators, and others affected by the high cost of health care. This program will do the following:
- address rising health care costs
- present health care cost management initiatives
- showcase healthy workforce and cost containment efforts currently underway in our region
- build on the work that began at the Synergy 2005 Conference
- provide practical proven strategies for managing health care costs
Department of Workforce Development secretary Roberta Gassman will be a special guest speaker. Other program speakers are experts in public and private research, business development, medicine and insurance who will provide the whole healthcare picture, along with successful models from regional business and organizations.
- Christopher Queram, CEO of the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality
- Jessica Grossmeir, research manager for StayWell Health Management
- Lynn Henry, business development director for StayWell Health Management
- Dr. Michele Bachhuber, medical director for Security Health Plan
- Jeffrey Azen, partner at Stanton Group
- Ali Payne, health costs management consultant for Stanton Group
Working models of health cost management will be shared by OEM Fabricators, Inc., Mega Foods, Realityworks, and We Energies.
The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 4:30 p.m. Program fee is $49 for registrations received prior to April 21 and $69 after that date. The fee includes lunch, refreshment breaks, handouts and workshop materials.
