24th Annual Fun Run to Raise Funds for Special Olympics April 22

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire American Marketing Association's 24th annual Fun Run will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 22, in Carson Park's Oak Pavilion. The in-line skating race will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the run/walk begins at 10 a.m.

Special Olympics logoEnterprise Rent-A-Car and AMA are sponsoring the 5K walk/run/in-line skating race to raise money for Special Olympics. The day's activities include the 5K event in the morning, bands around noon, barbecue, beverages, competitions and door prizes, finishing with a bash at the Brat Kabin around 4 p.m. Runners receive free beverages, a t-shirt and a can cooler for their effort.

The event is open to students, faculty, staff and the community. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the event and can be purchased at a booth in Davies Center and Schneider Hall two weeks prior to the race. A brochure and registration form that can be mailed in with the entry fee is also available on the AMA Web site.

The participants of the AMA campaign "aRe yoU iN" will be on campus wearing teal to raise awareness for the Fun Run.
