Michael Blair to Perform Free Concerts
at UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: Sept. 26, 2005

Michael BlairEAU CLAIRE — Michael Blair will present three free concerts at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Oct. 6-8. His shows will begin at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday in The Cabin of Davies Center.

When members of the Michigan aggressive acoustic band Madison Greene went on to other endeavors, lead singer Michael Blair took the opportunity to launch his solo career. His songwriting style is predominantly influenced by American folk music, which is evident in the strumming patterns and melodies he creates. Blair sings about real pain, real life in the songs that he constructs.

A native of Detroit, Blair has a variety of influences ranging from Patti Griffin and Ben Harper to Paul Simon and Greg Brown. The combination of these influences in addition to Michael's very own artistic touch creates a sound that he describes as "politically charged non-religious church music."

The show is open to all ages. Soda, domestic and imported beer and popcorn will be sold. Proof of age is required for alcohol purchases.

The Cabin program is sponsored by the University Activities Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate. For more information visit The Cabin Web site or contact the Activities and Programs office, (715) 836-4833.
