Three UW-Eau Claire Organizations to Sponsor Environmental Run/Walk

RELEASED: Sept. 6, 2005

EAU CLAIRE — The 2005 Race for the Environment, a two-mile run/walk sponsored by the Fun Runners, UW-Eau Claire Conservationists and the Student National Environmental Health Association, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, in Putnam Drive at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The run/walk is open to all students, staff, faculty and community members. Medals will be presented to the top male and female racers and refreshments will be provided at the end of the race.

The registration fee is $7. Registration forms can be picked up and dropped off at the Fun Runners mailbox in Room 132 of Davies Center or mailed to Fun Runners, 519 Broadway St., Eau Claire, 54703. Participants may also register between 9 and 10 a.m. the morning of the race at the entrance to Putnam Drive near Putnam Hall.

All proceeds from this event will go to the three sponsoring organizations and used to fund future benefit races and one or more environmental causes.
