EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Wind Symphony and the Indianhead Honors Band, under the direction of Richard Mark Heidel, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Wind Symphony will open the concert with Allegro from Symphony No. 10 by Dmitri Shostakovich. The ensemble will then perform "The Glass Bead Game" by James Beckel Jr. followed by Malcolm Arnold's "English Dances-Set II."
The Indianhead Honors Band will present their portion of the concert beginning with "Ride" by Samuel Hazo. The piece will be followed by the second movement from Mozart's Horn Concerto No. 3, which will feature Verle Ormsby, senior lecturer of music, on horn. The ensemble also will feature works by Shelley Hanson, Shostakovich and James Barnes. The ensemble will bring the concert to a conclusion with "March" from "Midway" by John Williams.
